My story really began the moment I finally said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
When the entrepreneurial journey feels challenging and every step that I take seems to be two steps back, when no one seems to understand what I am doing with multiple projects, I will remind myself of my initial goals and why I started out as an entrepreneur.
I will remember that my dreams are valid, my ambitions are bold and my knowledge is powerful. And it all started because of God’s affirmation of HONOUR in Dec’17 and I will not be stopped now. ❌
When I first started Honour Makeup in 2018, it was a tough battle and a struggle being a freelancer especially when I’ve got zero networks or connections in the industry. There were so so so many times where I questioned & doubted myself if I’m really walking in God’s calling... Fast forward to today (2021), God remains faithful. He has brought me to places, giving me the opportunity to work on many diverse engagements and doll up personalities which many could only dream of.
However, behind all the influx of social media job postings and shoutouts, I was struggling to strike a balance between work and my health, working irregular hours (up to 17 hours in a day), and finally told God that enough is enough... And then in December 2019, my body collapsed. I prayed to God for a second chance, this time round to pivot me to working in the online space. Shortly after in early 2020, global pandemic kicked in…
2020 has been a super rough ride, throwing away what I have known to be good for into the wind - literally making zero dollar for months, thus making me redundant in the industry. It has so far been a year of practicing the art of the pivot, translating my experience into the online space.
I wanted to scale, stop trading time for money, get out of the box and build a sustainable and scalable business online. 📈
THEN I FELL INTO DEPRESSION. AND SPIRALLED DOWN THE DARK HOLE FOR ALMOST A GOOD 1 MONTH+... I WANTED TO GIVE UP SO MANY TIMES, BUT I DIDN'T. GOD FUELED MY SPIRIT TO KEEP GOING.
There may have been bumps along the way, but I was able to achieve the initial pivot of producing 2 all-inclusive International Virtual Summits that drew in over 48 speakers, and one of them even happened during the Black Lives Matter period ✊🏿 and that was an eye-opener. Honour Summit was birthed forth from my season of depression where I’ve entirely lost all in-person service engagement and income during COVID-19. It caused me so much misery and pain that I never wished for anyone to go through the same thing as I did. Honour Summit was my pilot online massive project that diverted my source of negativity into a focus of energy and attention, helping me to realize I was meant for so much more - well beyond the label of just being another HMUA.
Doors opened up when I decided to put myself out there - realizing I have pretty decent and savvy tech and digital skills. I grasped concepts and acquired skillsets easily and can leverage them in different settings. I have been working on many digital engagements since - both on social media and coaching engagements. And I can only say these are only the beginning days... 🙏🏻
And sure, while I understand that there will be more challenging times ahead in 2021, my goal to help other aspiring and new service-based business owners to pivot into the online space from their in-person service is enough to help me move my to-dos to done and my goals to milestones. I have clarity in what I want to achieve in 2021.
At the end of the day I am a creator, a marketer and a creative entrepreneur. And I will be genuine about my journey and revere my own time, energy and sharing. I will honour God, honour others and honour myself. AND NOW I'M GOING TO HELP YOU OWN YOURS. 🧡

I truly believe that success comes from showing up and doing the work day after day.
I’m very grateful to be able to do what I’m doing now in this season. As a professional hair & makeup artist, as well as an online entrepreneur, having the flexibility to do work I love and create my own schedule is something I don’t take lightly or for granted. It was something I was scared to do for a while (I still miss the stability of receiving paychecks from corporate), but once I took the leap in 2018, I can safely say it’s one of the best things that’s ever happened to me.
My mission is to empower personal brands, thought leaders, coaches, freelancers to small business owners with modern digital marketing, social media marketing strategies, and resources so that they can feel confident in showing up online. Simply put, I help them get seen, get heard, and get more customers through social media.
