Starting the countdown to the end of 2014. Looking back the year, I’ve been blessed with much more than I could have asked for.
Anyhow, I am excited to share one of the latest happenings in my life – me chopping off my long locks (after 5 years of having long tresses)!!
You may be curious as to what triggered me to chop off my long tresses? Seriously, I have no idea why. I’ve been contemplating the transformation for years and months, just that I couldn’t bring myself to do it whenever I visit a hair salon. I guess I have the same concerns as many of you ladies out there.
“What if I look ugly after the hair cut? How long will my hair grow back? It’s too short. I am so regretful of cutting my hair now. I look fatter and rounder with this new hair cut….” yada yada yada
But this time round, something in me prompted me to take a leap of faith, and to just cut it. Well, to be honest, I was just sick and bored of seeing the long, dry and frizzy tresses day in and out, spotting the same hairstyle to work and to events. I need a brand new image in 2015. And yes, I’m a lover of change. (:
You know there is this saying, “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.” How apt is this.
Here are some pics of my hideous, ugly long and dead tresses for you! Just the flyaways alone reduced my attractiveness level by 50%! Neither does it look smart or sexy. Haha!
You know how some ladies want to have that short but not too short hairdo? I’m not a fan of this neither here nor there hair length. I needed a short hairdo where I can play arnd with the length, and style it playfully at different events. For this hair transformation at COVO Hair Salon, I also opted for a color change and hair treatment to soften my freshly cut tresses.
First thing first, Yuya believes in cutting hair while the hair is still wet.
Look at the massive amount of my hair being chopped away!
Pardon my closed eyes expression. o.O
1st cut done!
Don’t you all agree that I look much fresher and younger with shorter hair? 😀 I certainly got my hair stylist to thank! Yuya, my dedicated hairstylist, is one talented and skillful guy. He has this gift of making your hairdo look even better in person than on print. I showed him the cut I wanted, and it turned out to be better than that!
Following the 1st cut, Yuya proceeded to give my tresses a new lease of life. I opted for Violet brown as the base color, as the color was neither too bright nor was it too dark. Turned out that the color was very ideal for my tone! Love how a fresh coat of color can always brighten up one’s complexion!
1st cut was done for the shape and length. 2nd and 3rd cut followed suit after the hair coloring and Super hair treatment. It’s more for perfecting the hair style and length, adding a 3D look and feel to the entire crown. Didn’t capture any photos of me during the Super hair treatment though, as I was literally blinded by the massive waves of steam during the treatment.
It was stated that Super treatment contains 50% more concentration of keratin, collagen and protein which can penetrate deeper into the hair. Boy was it true to the description! Indeed, as I ran my fingers through my hair after the treatment, it felt soooo soft to the touch.
So there you go! The final look and feel of my hair transformation! How do you all like it?
Personally, I love the cut and color so much, that I have this indescribable need to head back and cut my mane even shorter. :O
Huge shout-out to Yuya and also Emi of COVO Hair for your top-notch service and dedicated skills.
